Vova's pissy

I hate it when people say "you miss 100% of the shots you don't take" in relation to things other than hockey, basketball or similar sports. If one follows that logic, you also HIT 100% of the shots you don't take. So really, what they're trying to say is you should take as many "shots" as you can, because there's no penalty for missing them, which oftentimes is not the case in real world. So really, unless you absolutely have to say something that makes no sense, don't say "you miss 100% of the shots you don't take" in relation to real life situations.

Well I must say that I do feel for your frustration, although it does sound like the verbal diarrhoea of a talentless jerk who's only method of encouragement is to criticize (I hope it's no one close to you).Don't lose your focus over such trivial words.
I do have some questions for you though. You mentioned earlier that you are unable to work legally in america, but what about school? Are you able to finish off high school at least? Also I believe you said in one of your vidoes that you'll be leaving America in october and you probably won't be doing much juggling competitions for quite some time, have those plans changed due to recent events (ie. the TIME mag. article your success in the wjf this year)?
Anyway keep up the good work and I hope you're not pissy any more.

You're right--it's an illogical phrase of "encouragement" i guess.

Like you said, it only means that one should take as many shots as possible, and is a way to urge one to try his or her best.

Truthfully some sayings never make much sense, I think that you don't "miss" the shots, you choose not to take them, at the time when the decision is made you decide whether the shot is worth taking... However I don't think you "hit" them either since you never took it =) follow?... I'm just the kind of person that takes each decision and carefully weighs in the "good" with the "bad" and see what prevails, thankfully I have no regrets so it must work. Don't get hung up on what people tell you, the answers are already within you, you just have to dig them out... Anyways you guys ROCK at what you do, the Fatboy Slim video had me so hypnotized I fell in love with the song and is now the song on my space. So the magic worked!! I really hope you guys can stay in the US and maybe one day I could get to see you guys live... Either here or in Russia I'm sure you guys will keep on kicking butts and breaking records...

The saying means that if you never try you're destined to not succeed. The saying should probably be changed to "You will never hit any shots you don't take." And obviously the opposite is true, but at least this sums up the meaning better.
