What brought Vova and Olga to the States, what was it that gave them the oppurtunity to come over here?

When they left did you know that they would be gone for so long?

No comment.

"Have you ever been over here?"
No, I have never been to America. Their mom was with Vova and Olga for 7 months in the United States.

"When they left did you know that they would be gone for so long?"
No, we thought it would be 2-3 months before they get Green Cards and the possibility to travel outside of the United States. Unfortunately it turned out more than 3 years for me and 2.5 years for mom.

Very wise words - and ones far too rarely heard from parents. But please give us some advance warning if Vova shows any interest in becoming a driving instructor in the near future. :-)
(I'm glad we can joke about that. I was very happy to see his new video showing no signs of major permanent damage.)
As for being happy, I think we can safely conclude that neither one would want to be an astronaut.
